1. StatTrix Inc. wants to upgrade all its Windows 7 desktops to Windows 8. The company has welldefined IT policies that are enforced by different processes and technologies. After upgrading the OS of all the desktops, the company plans to install some new applications on all the desktops. For this, the company wants to automatically distribute the applications on all the desktops. Identify and explain the desktop deployment level of the company. In addition, list the other deployment levels of organizations.

The desktop deployment level of the company is rationalized. The rationalized level signifies that the organization has a
proactive strategy for its IT functioning. The IT policies are well-defined and enforced by different processes and technologies.
This level ensures the most cost-effective infrastructure state. It involves partial automation for deployment and engages
centralized, mission critical servers to deploy OS and applications in a well-managed and secure manner. The rationalized
level ensures compatibility of existing applications with the desktop on which the applications need to be deployed. It
also ensures that the organization keeps a well-maintained inventory of OS and applications. In addition, the rationalized
level organizations support automatic software distribution on the newly deployed desktops.

The other deployment levels are:
·         Basic
·         Standardized
·         Dynamic

2. NETcom International Inc. is a software development company located in Ohio. In one of its branch offices, the company has 40 desktop computers with the Windows 7 OS installed. Recently, the company has decided to upgrade these Windows 7 desktops to Windows 8. This task has been assigned to Robin, the System Administrator. Robin plans to configure a standardized image to deploy Windows 8 on all the desktop computers. To deploy the standardized image quickly, Robin wants to implement a method that will automatically supply the desired basic configuration options, such as the product key and personalization settings, during the deployment of the OS. Identify and explain the deployment method that Robin can use in the preceding scenario. In addition, list the other methods of deploying an OS.

The answer file-based deployment method can be used in this scenario. This method is used in environments where you need
to deploy more than one OS at a time. Answer file-based deployment can be performed in conjunction with the media-based
and network share-based deployment methods. It can also be used with image-based deployment method. This method does not
require you to specify the inputs for the different OS settings manually at the time of installing OS.

The other deployment methods are:
·         Media-based
·         Network share-based
·         Image-based
·         Automated image-based
·         Windows To Go
·         Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
