1. Sara complains that her computer shows 100% CPU usage even if she does not have any application running. A DOS window appears and disappears every time she logs on to the network. In addition, all programs stop responding within two minutes and she is unable to close the running applications or start new applications. As a result, she is forced to restart the computer. To View memory, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Click the Memory tab. the Memory page is displayed.
2. Double click the Working set (KB) column. you will notice that the process that is utilizing maximum system
   memory is displayed on the top of the column.

Task 4. Viewing Disk
To view disk, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Click the disk tab. the disk page is displayed.
2. Double click the Write (B/sec) column. you will notice the process that has the maximum average number of bytes per
   second is displayed on the top the column.

To Manage Processes, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Press the Windows+C keys. the charms bar is displayed.

3. Type Notepad, and then press the Enter key. the Notepad window is displayed.
4. Press the Windows+C keys. the Charms bar is displayed.

Task 2. Viewing System Statistics
To View System Statistics, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Task Manager window is open.
2. Click the Performance tab. the Performance page is displayed.
3. Click CPU in the lift pane. the CPU page is displayed in the right pane. you will notice that the graphs
   of the CPU usage of your system are displayed.
4. Click Memory in the left pane. the Memory page is displayed in the right page. you will notice that the
   information about the memory usage of your system is displayed.
5. Click Disk 0 (C:) in the left pane. the Disk 0 (C:) page is displayed in the right pane. you will notice
   that the information about the disk 0 (C:) usage of your system is displayed.
6. Click Ethernet in left pane. the Ethernet page is displayed in the right pane. you will that the IPv4 and IPv6
   addresses of your system are displayed.

Task 3. Viewing app History
To view app history, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Ensure that the Task Manager window is open.
2. Click the App history tab. app history page is displayed. the App history tab displayed the CPU and network bandwidth
   usage of each app. therefore, you can observe the current resource usege of each process.

Task 4. Managing Startup Programs
To view startup programs, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Task manager window is open.
2. Click the Startu tab. the Startup page is displayed. the application that automatically start with the system startup are displayed.
3. Right click Backinfo under the Name column, and then select Open file location. the Backinfo window is displayed. you can view the location
   of the file.
4. Close the  Backinfo window.

Task 5. Viewing Usages

To View users, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Task Manager window is open.
2. Click the Users tab. the Users page is displayed. you will notice that the system's resource usage by user account.
   you can expand a user's name to view that user's processes.
3. Right click Administrator, and then select Manage user accounts. the User Accounts window id Displayed.
4. Click the Account control setting link in the right pane. the user Account control setting window is displayed.
5. Scroll down the slider,a nd then select Never notify.
6. Click the ok button. the User Accounts window is displayed.
7. Close the User Accounts window.

Task 6. Managing Details
To view details, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Task Manager window in open.
2. Click the Detail tab. The Details page is displayed.
3. Scroll down the bar in the right hand side of the Task Manager window to select services. exe.
4. Right click services.exe, and then select set priority Realtime. the task manger dialog box is displayed

Task 7. Managing Services
To mange services, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Task Manager window is open.
2. CLick the Services tab. the services page is displayed.
3. Select Spooler under the Name column.
4. Right click spooler, and then select Stop. the Spooler services is stopped.
5. Right click spooler, and then select Start. the Spooler services is started.

Therefore, he needs to access work-related files from anywhere within the organization or from the client place. Sometimes, he needs to work from the client place and modify the files according to the requirements of the client. These changes need to be automatically updated on the system, LON- CL1, after the files are entered into the organizational network. Jim has hired you to fulfill his requirements. Task 1. Create a network folder
To create a network folder, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Strat screen is displayed.
2. Type C:\, and then press the Enter key. the Local disk (C:) window is displayed.
3. Right click anywhere in the empty area of the right pane of the local disk (C:) window and then select
   New folder a new folder is created in the right pane.
4. Type sync, and then press the Enter key to rename the new folder.
5. doublie click the sync folder. the sync window is displayed.
6. Right click anywhrer in the empty area of the right pane of the sync window, and then select new text document.
   A new text document is created in the right pane.
7. Type cloent notes, and then press the Enter key to rename the new folder.

10. Select file save from the menu bar.
11. Close the client notes text file.
12. Click the Back arroy button. the Local disk (C:) window is displayes.

15. Click the share button. the file sharing dialog box is displayed.
16. Select the Everyone option from the drop down list beside the Add button.
17. Click the Add button. the Everyone name is displayed in the list box.
18. Click the Done button. the your folder is shares page of file sharing dialog box is displayed.
19. Click the Done button. the Sync proerties dialog box is displayed.
20. Click the close button.
21. Close the Local disk (C:) window.

Task 2. Enabling Offine Files
To enable offline files, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Ensure that the Strat screen is displayed.
2. Type Control panel, and then press the Enter key. the Control panel window is displayed.
3. Select the Small icons option from the View by: Category drop down list. the All control panel Items window is displayed.
4. Click the Sync center link. the Sync Center window is dislayed.
5. Click the Manage offline file link in the left the pane. the Offline file dialog box is displayed.
6. Click the Enable offline file button. After a few moments, the Offline files is currently enable lavel is displayed.
7. Click the ok button. the offline file message box is displayed.
8. press the space bar. the ADATUM\Administrator screen is displayed.


Task 3. Working with Offline File and Folders

To work with offline file then folders, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Type \\172.16.0.50, and then press the Enter key. After a few moments, the 172.16.0.50. window is displayed
2. Right click the Sync folder, and select Always available offline. After a few moments, the 172,16.0.50 windows is displayed.
3. Close the 172.16.0.50 window.
4. Press the windows key. the strat screen is displayed.
5. Type Control panel, and then press the Enter key. the Control panel window is displayed.
6. Click the ync center link. the Sync center window is diplayed.
7. Ensure that the View sync partneships link is selected in the left pane.
8. Right click the offline files folder in the right pane, and then select Sync offline files. the progress bar displayed the
   progress of the sync. Ater a few moments, the sync Completed status is displayed.
9. Right click the offline files folder in the right pane, and then select properties. the offline files properties dialog box is displayed.
10. Ensure that the Enable and Connected ckeck  boxes are selected under the States section.
11. Click the ok button. the Sync conter window is displayed.
12. Click the Control panel Home linl in left pane. the All control panel Items window is displayed.
13. Click the Network and Sharing center link. the Network and Sharing Center window is displyed.
14. Click the Change adapter setting in left pane. the Network Connections window is displayed.

20. Ensure that the View sync partnerships link is selected in left pane.
21. Double click the offline files folder in the right pane. the Offline files window is displayed.
22. Right click the sync(\\172.16.0.50.) folder in the right pane, and then select Propertied. the Sync (\\172.16.0.50.) Properties
    dialog box is displayed.
23. Ensure that the Enable and connected check boxes are selected under the States section.
24. Click the ok button. the offline files window is displayed.
25. Double click the sync (\\172.16.0.50.) folder in the right pane. the Sync window is displayed.
26. Double click the Clint notes.txt file. the Client notes window is displayed.
27. Ensure that the this is a test document. text is written in the client notes wondow.
28. Type the Sync is successfully completed. in a new line of the Client Notes window.
29. Select file save from the menu bar.
30. Close the clint notes text file.
31. Close the Sync window.
32. Close the offline files window.

Task 4.  Testing the Synchronization of the Sync Folder
To test the synchronization of the sync folder, you neet to perform the following steps:

1. Open the Start Screen.
2. Type C:\, and then press the Enter ket. the Local disk (C:) window is displayed.
3. Double click the sync folder the sync folder. the sync windowd is displayed.
4. Double click the Client notes.txt file. the Client notes window is displayed.
5. Ensure that the this is a test document. text is written in the client notes window.
6. Close the client notes window.
7. Open Control panel.
8. Click the Network and Sharing center link. the Network and Sharing center window is displayed.
9. Click the change adapter setting in the left pane, the network connections window is displayed.
10. Select the Local Area connection icon.
11. Right click, and then select the Enable option from the menu. After a few moments, Adatum.com is displayed below Local Area Connection.
12. Close the Network connections window.
13. Close the Control panel window.
14. Ensure that the sync window is displayed.

16. Close the Client noter window.

Task 5. Scheduling Sync Partnership

To Scheduling Sync Partnership, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Open the Control anel window.
2. Click the Sync center link. the Sync center window is displayed.
3. Ensure that the View sync partnerships link is selected in the left pane.
4. Right click the offline files folder in the right pane, and then select Schedule for offline files. the page of the offline sync
   Schedule wizard is displayed.
5. Ensure that the sync (\\172.16.0.50) check box is selected.
6. Click the At a schedule time option. the page is dissplayed.
7. Select minute(s) from the Repeat every drop down list, beside the Number spin box.
8. Click the Next button. the Save this "Offline files" sync schedule page is displayed.
9. Click the Save schedule button . the Sync center window is displyed.
10.Close the Sync Center window.

1. Log on to LON-CL1 as Adatum\Administrator with the password Pa$$w0rd.
2. Open Network and Sharing Center.
3. Create a new network connection with the following properties:
   o Connection option: Connect to a workplace
   o Use my Internet connection (VPN)
   o I’ll set up an Internet connection later
   o Internet address to connect to: 172.16.0.10
   o Destination name: Adatum

Task 2: Modify the VPN configuration settings
• Reconfigure the VPN to use the following properties:
  o Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol
  o MS-CHAP v2 authentication

1. Attempt to connect the Adatum VPN using the following credentials:

  o Domain: Adatum
2. Map a network drive to \\lon-dc1\data.
3. Verify your IP configuration by using IPConfig.

    o Add Adatum\Adam as a Remote Desktop user.
3. Confirm your changes, and then close all open windows.
4. Log on to LON-CL2 as Adatum\Administrator with the password Pa$$w0rd, and then open
   Remote Desktop Connection.
5. Specify the computer to connect to as LON-CL1, and then click Show Options.
6. Configure the following setting:
   Advanced tab, select: If server authentication fails: Connect and don’t warn me.

1. Connect to LON-CL1. When prompted, enter the user name Adatum\Adam and the password
   Pa$$w0rd.
2. Determine the computer name within the Remote Desktop session.
3. Close the Remote Desktop session, and then close all open windows.
4. On LON-CL1, notice you are logged out.

   o Turn off the display: 3 minutes

   o Turn off hard disk after: 3 minutes
