Cyberpunk Glitch Transitions in After Effects | Animation Tutorial

In this After Effects tutorial, I show you the simplest tips and tricks to create a cyberpunk futuristic LED glitch effect & transition. The method can be applied to any layer and create glitch transitions between any scenes. This animation tutorial is suitable for beginners.

This template is very easy to setup.
When you open the After FX file you will be in the Demo Movie Comp.
Start with collecting 12 Video Clips or Images on your computer.
Next open the Drop Images Here folder and replace footage for each of the 12 dummy images with your in sequential order 1 – 12. This will keep your movie in the sequence for the slide you want first to the slide you want last.
Next, go ahead and make sure you images are in the movie by dragging the time slider out.
Next, all you need to do is update the titles. To do this, open each Title Comp not the Glitch Title Comps.
Change the text to what you want, you can virtually make it anything you want as long as it fits inside the mask. You can also adjust the mask animation to be what ever you want it to be.
Next, the glitch can be edited if you want. To do this you will need to open up each sequence. The Top adjustment layer controls the fuzz. If you double click on the Glitch Image Comp you can get into the more detailed glitches.
Once inside the Glitch Image comp, turn back on “Shy Layers” to see all the adjustment layers that control the Glitch effects. You can shift them around, edit the timing and the displacement amounts. Have fun.

Once you have completed your edits you are ready to render.
From your final COMP, select “Composition” from the top menu, select Add to Render Queue; adjust your output settings and your movie’s destination.

Hit render and enjoy!
